Personal Hygiene – Food Safety

All employees who handle product must maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness.

All employees must wash and dry their hands and use hand sanitiser as a minimum:

  • prior to starting their work shift
  • immediately after using the toilet
  • after smoking and prior to returning to work
  • after each meal break and prior to returning to work

All Employees must wear clear clothes and safety vests at the beginning of each day and be well groomed and clean in appearance.

Good personal hygiene is one of the most effective ways to protect ourselves and others from illness.  This means washing your hands especially, but also your body.  Good habits can help control body odour and bad breath.

Body smells are caused by a number of factors working in combination, including:

  • Chemicals in sweat, including pheromones, which are made by the body.
  • Wastes excreted through the skin, such as metabolised alcohol.
  • The actions of bacteria that live on the skin and feed on dead skin cells and sweat.
  • Unwashed clothes.

Tip :  Shower at least once a day & use roll-on deodorant directly after each shower to ensure you keep fresh all day.
