Emergency Procedures


Fire Emergency

  1. Raise the alarm
  2. Provide first response (if trained to do so)
  3. Evacuate safely if necessary or instructed to do so by a Fire Warden
  4. Alert emergency Services on 000 if required (Don’t hang up until advised to do so by Emergency Services)
  5. Contact BML Market Security on 3915 4200 and report the event so local resources can be mobilised to support
  6. Advise your Fire Warden and following instructions given
  7. Wait at the designated Emergency Assembly point and await further instructions by your Fire Warden/Employer or BML before leaving the site.

Medical Emergency

  1. Assess the danger to yourself then others
  2. Provide first aid (if trained to do so) if not trained then call for assistance
  3. Stay with the casualty (if safe to do so)
  4. Contact Emergency Services on 000 if required (Don’t hang up until advised to do so by Emergency Services)
  5. Contact BML Market Security on 3915 4200 and report the event so local resources can be mobilised to support
  6. Advise your supervisor and following instructions given.

Police Emergency

  1. Assess the danger to yourself then others
  2. Evacuate if necessary
  3. Provide first aid (if trained to do so) if not trained then call for assistance

  5. Contact BML Market Security on 3915 4200 and report the event so local resources can be mobilised to support
  6. Advise your supervisor and following instructions given.

Gas Leaks

Report all leaks to BML Security on 3915 4200 so the area can be evacuated safely and cordoned off correctly

  1. Major gas leaks are to be reported to Queensland Fire & Rescue on 000
  2. Minor gas leaks such as forklift LPG bottles may be managed locally by following emergency procedures to shut down the source if safe and practical to do so.
  3. Evacuate if necessary or instructed to do so
